Finger Exercise and Rehabilitation | Finger Rehab
Occupational and Physical Therapists, incorporate finger-weights™ into virtually any treatment plan involving your patient's fingers and hands. finger-weights™ isolate the extensor and flexor muscles and may be used as a standalone device or in conjunction with other therapeutic apparati.
Arthritis – in conjunction with other treatment plans recommended by your Doctor or Healthcare Professional, sensible exercise and stretching is the number one recommended treatment for both OA (Osteoarthritis) and RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) to help in the fight against stiffness and pain. finger-weights™ utilize the accepted principles of progressive weight training practiced by athletes, prescribed by Doctors, and employed by Occupational and Physical Therapists to improve performance, prevent injury, and rehabilitate.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – RSI’s (Repetitive Strain Injuries) have been on the rise for two decades. Many believe this is due to a lack of general conditioning in the fine motor muscles of the hands that open and close the fingers. From birth (even before as pictures from ‘the inside’ show clenched fist while thumb sucking) we are using the flexor muscles, the tiny muscles in the hands that close the fingers – the gripping muscles. For every reaction there needs to be a counter reaction. In this instance, the counter reaction is to condition the extensor muscles, the muscles that open the fingers, in an attempt to mitigate the negative effects of repetitive movements in the opposite direction.
General Exercise – progressive weight training improves performance, prevents injury, and rehabilitates. Incorporate finger-weights™ into your aerobic activities or other exercise programs. Follow the hand exercises contained in the Instruction pamphlet included with each set. finger-weights™ may be used as a standalone device or in conjunction with other exercise equipment. It can also help you enhance finger speed.
Kinesthetic Feedback - knowledge people have about the position and movement of their bodies based on nerves in their joints and muscles (also known as proprioception). finger-weights will amplify this feedback through the excess weight placed at the end of the upper extremity. Kinesthetic feedback and proprioception are crucial elements to top athletes.
Occupational Therapy – finger-weights™ may be used as a standalone device or in conjunction with other therapeutic equipment. Incorporate finger-weights™ into virtually any treatment plan or finger rehab or hand rehab plan.
Pain Management – sensible exercise and stretching is generally part of any pain management program. finger-weights™ utilize the accepted principles of progressive weight training practiced by athletes, prescribed by Doctors, and employed by Occupational and Physical Therapists to improve performance, prevent injury, and rehabilitate.
Physical Therapy – finger-weights™ may be used as a standalone device or in conjunction with other therapeutic equipment. Incorporate finger-weights™ into virtually any treatment plan or rehabilitation program involving the fingers and hands.
Proprioception - feedback provided solely on the status of the body internally. It is the sense that indicates whether the body is moving with required effort, as well as where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other. finger-weights™ will amplify this feedback through the excess weight placed at the end of the upper extremity. Proprioception is crucial to sports and daily activites.
Spatial Awareness – spatial awareness deals with the body’s position in space. finger-weights™ will amplify spatial awareness through the excess weight placed on the fingers. Spatial awareness is crucial to sports and daily activities.
Tendinitis – Tendonitis is a common condition that can cause significant pain and occurs when there is inflammation of tendons – the point where a muscle attaches to the bone. When sensible exercise and stretching are recommended as part of the treatment modality, incorporate finger-weights™ into virtually any treatment plan.
